Marmorata is a gem away from the touristy 5th Avenue. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming - you can tell they’re passionate about what they do. The selection of tequila and mezcal is excellent, all handpicked. The cocktails were absolutely incredible. We visited twice during our recent trip and it’s definitely on the list to revisit when we’re next in Playa. Highly recommend!

Quiet, quality time one block off of Fifth Avenue. Oh and don’t forget the outstanding selection of tequila. By the Oz or bottle to take home. This isn’t the garbage they peddle to tourists. This is the really good stuff!!! Come check it out!

Had a last minute tequila tasting at Marmorata at the suggestion of my guide on another tour and what a great suggestion it was! Estrella whipped out the laptop and gave me a complete overview of the tequila process while we talked through 5 different tequilas. Once the tasting was over I spent a great couple hours at the bar chatting and enjoying my last evening in Mexico. Estrella then went above and beyond and dropped a bottle of tequila at my hotel the next morning that I purchased because I wasn’t able to pick it up due to my flight time. Go to Marmorata for a tasting or even just a drink and hang out, you won’t regret it!

So glad I found this place on a quiet street in playa, one of the few bars with a cool, laidback vibe and stocked with truly artisanal spirits. The staff really know their stuff and how to make great cocktails. I had a Mexican take on mai-tai made with tepache and a sotol-ita, both absolutely delicious and amongst the best drinks I’ve had anywhere. They also do spirit tastings on request and will advise you on a drink based on your tastes.

Such a great bar, we found it on our second night in town and went back for happy hour every day after. The atmosphere is amazing, the music is always good and simply watching them make the drinks is a joy. The concept is great, if you want a cocktail you just talk them through your taste preferences and they do the rest. The bartenders are so knowledgeable, if you want to learn about tequila, mezcal, any other Mexican spirits they're your guys.

We came here for a drink and we stayed for the tequilas. We had the tasting tequila experience which was worth the time and money. Incredible bartender and amazing manager. Very good drinks, best tequilas i ever had. We will come back.

Estrella and her husband have created such a lovely bar! We did a tequila tasting there and also tried several of their cocktails over our 4 day stay in playa del Carmen. They were so welcoming and it was great to learn about tequila from them! We will be back one day :)

Amazing cocktails. One of those places you can list out what you like and they’ll make a drink around it. Very friendly people working here that make you feel like you are drinking at your favorite mixologists house. Been here twice and both times were equally awesome. They also do tequila tastings here, which I think you have to book ahead of time.
